GEA Connect, the broadband internet division of the Greeneville Energy Authority, has been recognized as the Large Business of the Year by the Greene County Partnership.
During the annual Greene County Partnership Gala on Friday, Greene County Partnership President Jeff Taylor emphasized that GEA’s decision to develop high-speed internet service for Greene County has been invaluable for the community. Taylor praised the efforts of the late Chuck Bowlin, as well as current CEO and President Dwayne Wells, who was present to receive the award.
Our fiber optic network is available to almost all of the Greeneville city limits, and we have been working diligently in other portions of Greene County. In the western grant area, we have installed 2.1 million feet of fiber optic cable so far, completing 88% of the fiber cable installation.
GEA Connect continues to expand its reach through various grant applications. On April 18, GEA Connect submitted BEAD Grant applications for three project areas covering all of Greene County.
GEA Connect’s commitment to the community sets it apart from other providers. As a local institution, we provide reliable fiber optic internet and telephone services with quick response times, just like we have been doing for 80 years in our electric division. This award reflects not just our commitment to excellence, but also the unwavering support of the community we serve.
