GEA Connect named “Best of the Best” internet service provider for the second year in a row

For the second year in a row, GEA Connect, powered by Greeneville Energy Authority, has been voted the best of the best internet service provider in Greeneville and Greene County. We’re grateful and humbled.

This award belongs to you. We couldn’t do it without our loyal customers, who chose a local provider and trusted us with their homes and businesses. Thank you for voting, and thank you for being our neighbors.

Growing Together

This recognition comes at an exciting time. GEA Connect fiber internet is available throughout the entire City of Greeneville, as well as to approximately 1,000 customers in Western Greene County. The GEA Board voted to move forward with a comprehensive buildout of fiber optic internet service to the entire county, and GEA received approval from the State Comptroller’s Office to provide fiber internet service throughout Greene County within GEA’s electric service territory.

Fiber expansion is moving forward. Crews are actively connecting customers in areas where fiber infrastructure is already in place, and additional construction crews will soon help speed things up so we can reach more communities.

There’s No Secret to What We’re Good At

People often ask how we’ve earned this recognition. The answer is simple: there is no secret.

  • Local customer service. When you call, you reach a local team that lives and works in the community we serve, not an overseas call center.
  • No truck roll charges. If we need to send a technician, we don’t charge you for the visit.
  • Truly putting customers first. We’ve been part of this community since 1945, and we believe in investing right here at home. Being your neighbor isn’t just our tagline. It’s our promise.

Understanding the Fiber Availability Map

As construction progresses, you may notice your area still appears red on the GEA Connect fiber availability map, even if sign-ups have opened for nearby roads. Don’t worry! Red means fiber is coming soon, and you can preregister for internet service. We’ll update project areas to green once all locations in the area are complete and ready for service.

Because availability can vary from one address to another, please check your specific address rather than relying only on the map color.

Check Your Address and Sign Up Today

Ready to see if GEA Connect fiber is available at your home or business? Check your address on the GEA Connect Fiber Availability Map.

Even if service isn’t available at your address yet, we encourage you to preregister your interest. Your interest helps us see where demand exists and decide where to build next. We’ll keep updating the map as more addresses become eligible, so check back often.

Have questions? Call GEA at 423-636-6200 or visit mygea.net/fiber to learn more about GEA Connect packages and services.

Thank you again, Greeneville and Greene County. We’re honored to serve you.
