TVA Activates Emergency Load Curtailment Plan

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has initiated Steps 10 and 20 of the Emergency Load Curtailment Plan as extreme heat continues to strain the power grid across the seven-state region.

VOLUNTARY CONSERVATION REQUESTED

Due to ongoing high temperatures and increased demand for electricity, TVA is asking all customers to voluntarily reduce power usage during this critical period.
Greeneville Energy Authority urges our customers to participate in voluntary curtailment efforts to reduce electric consumption.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Simple actions that make a big difference:

– Turn off unused lights throughout your home
– Avoid using major appliances during peak hours

Postpone use of:
– Ovens and cooking appliances
– Dishwashers
– Washing machines and dryers
– Other high-energy devices

COMMUNITY IMPACT

Small conservation efforts made by each household combine to create significant relief for our power supply system. Your cooperation during this heat wave is essential for maintaining reliable service for everyone in our community.

We thank all customers for their understanding and participation in these voluntary conservation measures.
